This was once the cutest house on the street. And the woman took care of it meticulously. She went through very difficult times. One of which led her to start hoarding. It was in bad shape. So was she. She passed away not long before the estate attorney contacted us to come to look at it after which we purchased it. At the closing, I learned that there was no mortgage on the house and the entire purchase price was being donated to charity. That’s what the owner wanted before they passed away. Amazing to me, someone that had gone through so much, was probably ostracized from the street and community and embarrassed for decades beyond anything I could imagine would be the most generous person with the warmest heart. We decided to restore the house back to its original state. A slightly more modern version. But something I’m sure she would have loved.
